I think this is great but am not extremely excited by the design... Would have been great to see Welty or another represenation of a well-known Mississippi artist or their work on the tag. That's just my opinion and I have to state my mind at least once a day or it doesn't feel complete.... ;-)

You're both right; that plate is uglier than sin, with all due respect to the Arts Commission. Where's the artistic part? I can't say I want it on my car. I'd rather have that little Conserving Wildlife hummingbird, figuring even the hunters can't pretend that it's about them; it's hard to go around shooting hummingbirds. ;-D

That lady is Whistler's Mother, don't you think? And I suppose she is driving the Museum on Wheels vehicle. She is a tad homely, though, in this instance and, to tell the truth, in reality. I've just looked at her online - whew! Wonder why with all of the creative artists in Mississippi, one of them didn't create this tag?

I was wondering the same thing, Curly... I still think if they were to choose something simple, a high-contrast b/w image of Welty would have been more fitting... But that's just my opinion.

You're so right, Knol. Or at the very least, make an outline of the state of Mississippi that looks like an artist's palette.

Curly, that's crazy... Do you have a spy in my head? I swear I was thinking of the exact same design (state as a palette). Not sure if I've seen it somewhere or if it's quasi-original. Would be simple and straight-forward and definitely more attractive than Whistler's Mother. ;-)
