June 11, 2004—Angela Lewis, the daughter of murdered civil rights worker James Chaney, and Donna Ladd, the editor of the Jackson Free Press, are featured in the July issue of Glamour magazine. The five-page feature, "Two Women, Joined by Murder," tells the story of a black woman and a white woman growing up at the same time in Mississippi and trying to come to terms with the state's difficult race past. Glamour brought Angela and Donna, who had never met, together in February first in Meridian (where Angela still lives) and then took them together to Neshoba County (Donna's hometown) to the site of the murders 40 years ago on June 21, 1964, and then to Mt. Zion Methodist Church, which was burned by the Ku Klux Klan. The issue hit the newsstands this week.

I bought it in Canada! It's a pretty good article, with the added bonus of the baby picture of Donna.
