This week, the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies features intern Ayana Taylor in a lengthy story about her work for the Free Press for the last five months, thanks to a diversity grant AAN awarded to the Jackson Free Press in January. Ayana is preparing to leave next week for an 8-week alternative newswriting workshop at the Medill journalism school at Northwestern Univesity in Chicago—one of the finest journo schools in the country! Getting into the workshop is very competitive, and we're very proud of Ayana and appreciative of her work for the Free Press, to date. We will miss her immensely for the next two months. Go, girl.
