Associated Press is reporting: "A reputed Ku Klux Klansman under investigation for the 1964 slayings of three civil rights workers in Mississippi has no intention of joining a white supremacist group at next week's state fair, his wife said Friday. Betty Jo Killen, in a telephone interview with The Associated Press from her home in Union, said her 79-year-old husband never told Nationalist Movement leader Richard Barrett that he would attend the fair. 'He has nothing to do with the booth,' she told The AP. 'That is Richard Barrett's doing. Richard Barrett wanted publicity and he got plenty.'"

WJTV just announced Barrett is not going to be at the fair. They're interviewing Killen's wife right now, who says Barrett was using Killen's name without permission.

Works for me! A recent guest on my show, White Aryan and Lone Wolf advocate, Tom Metzger, likened the possibility of Killen signing autographs at the Mississippi State fair to O.J. Simpson signing autographs last week in Los Angeles. Not that murdering anyone is ever acceptable, but I don't think that if OJ is guilty he was motivated by 'racial hatred'. Further, he was a celebrity of sports and film long before he was found not guilty of murder. I'm glad that Barrett used Killen's name, and I'm glad that a Tom Metzger has the willingness to come on the talk show of an African-American woman. It reminds us that these people do exist and that the battle of racism is no where near over! (and yes, some folk do seem to still need reminding from time to time)
