Rome on Late, Late Show

Doctor S caught Jim Rome, the uber-popular radio sports talk show host and ESPN TV host, on Friday night during his guest stint on CBS' "The Late, Late Show." CBS is still looking for a replacement for Craig Kilborn (who used ot be on ESPN ... interesting). Rome has said on his radio show that he would love to get the CBS gig, and who can blame him?

Watching Rome was a little disconcerting. Kilborn might be gone, but the his writers remain and Rome didn't always seem comfortable during the opening comedy sequence. The sequence that parodied his radio talk show was pretty funny, though. And Rome was OK interacting with the guests. Doctor S has always preferred Radio Rome to TV Rome, so here's hoping he keeps his 11 a.m.-2 p.m. gig on 620 AM. However, if CBS is interested, Doctor S is very available.
