Capitol Records will release George Harrison's The Dark Horse Years 1979 -1992 DVD in the U.S. on Nov. 2. The DVD includes performance and promotional videos, interview footage, a deluxe booklet with rare photographs and original Dark Horse illustrations, plus a history of the label written by Olivia Harrison.
The Dark Horse Years 1979 - 1992 DVD runs for 75 minutes and is in four sections:
DARK HORSE FEATURE: A montage of archival footage featuring George talking about his solo career and the formation of Dark Horse Records.
PROMO VIDEOS: Seven music videos, with filmed segments by George himself discussing each track. The videos are: "This Song," "Crackerbox Palace," "Faster," "Got My Mind Set On You - Version 1," "Got My Mind Set On You - Version 2," "When We Was Fab," and "This is Love."
LIVE SONGS: Four songs recorded live in Japan from George's 1991 tour with Eric Clapton. All footage in this section is previously unreleased. The songs are "Taxman," "Cloud 9," "Devil's Radio" and "Cheer Down."
SHANGHAI SURPRISE: Three extracts of George in performance from the 1986 Madonna/Sean Penn film -- plus studio footage of George's duet with Vicki Brown on the title track. The selections are: "Shanghai Surprise," "Someplace Else," and "Hottest Gang in Town."
The DVD sound is in stereo except for the four concert pieces which are in 5.1 surround sound, both in Dolby Digital and DTS formats. Subtitles in a variety of languages will be included for all spoken passages. The DVD was previously only available as part of the Dark Horse box set.
