Velma Neal said she caught part of Sunday's mayoral debate and has a message for the candidates.
"We need a mayor that's going to get things done. Crime and cleaning up the streets," she said. "I just hope whoever gets it will do what they promise and aren't just saying it to get the seat."
Some Jackson residents said the first debate-style forum — and possibly the last time Democratic candidates Frank Melton and Mayor Harvey Johnson Jr. will match up — did little to change their minds about their choice for mayor.
