April 30, 2005: The Jackson Free Press made Election Man today!!! Dot da daaaaaa! The Jackson blogosphere has arrived in Marshall Ramsey's twisted head—and now the JFP has proved our place as the ALTERNATIVE to the Ledge and other media in town, making ourselves heard even when the corporate Goliaths try to quiet our voices. Ha! Also making us very proud: Tony DiFatta's original painting of the cover—of Johnson and Melton; see cover to the left— was auctioned off last night at the Capitol Club during the Walkers-DiFatta cook/paint-off. It raised $500 toward this year's Jubilee! JAM. Go, Tony!
Also, this issue is hard to keep in the racks. We just redistributed some to primary spots, including the Medical Mall, a number of grocery stories, and are about to put more around Fondren. Call us if you can't find copies, or if one of your favorite spots is bone-dry, and we'll get them out: 362-6121, ext. 3. We can get more out Sunday as well.
