Support Our Troops

I'm not saying you're going to like it...

Go here and watch this movie.

I'm not saying it isn't a bit overdramatized, or won't make you angry, or should. I'm not saying anything but that you should watch it.

If only because they deserve to be seen.

Oh, I think I feel a small Friday evening rant comin' on..... No, I didn't "like" the film...but I needed to see it. I does make me angry. But, I don't think it is all that over-dramatized, (plus I like a little Pink Floyd). But, it's only 500 of them...of 2000+ and rising. And behind each of those faces is: --a childhood --a story --a family --a mother --a father --often a wife, a child, or children --parents, grandparents --dusty medals on a shelf from high school --ink dried on paper from a hand that held a pen and wrote a poem, or a hope, or a fear --a dream of some future that will never be manifest --possibly someone who would have been a school teacher, who would have touched the life of a child who, in turn, would have grown up to be a school teacher who, in turn, might have taught your grandchild. Who knows what life trajectories have been cut short, all for the chess-room strategizing of a few oil barons, acting under the cloak of Democracy, yet exacting the same religiously motivated Manifest Destiny principle that mucked up the life of so many indigenous people. "Yuk, yuk. God's my pal. He says I can do whatever I want." Sound ridiculous? Sound like words I'm putting into the mouth of George Bush? How about what he really said? "If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator."--George Bush What a lame ass idiot. And what a bunch of lame ass blind ignorant jerks the Republicans AND Democrats are for allowing all of their strings to be pulled by this Ivy League "Cowboy" puppetmaster. But, I digress. Today on Yahoo News an article was released from the AP that the FBI determined--back in July--that financial gain, not just foreign policy, was at the root of a completely fabricated intelligence report use to justify going to war. Yet this wingnut is still the President.... Also today, the war criminal Henry Kissinger, who often gets paraded around like an American patriot, suggested that any pull out from Iraq at this point will have disasterous results. Sounds a whole lot like the crap he was spewing during the Vietnam War. I think these bastards count on Americans having a short-attention span. Thus far, they might be right. Hopefully it IS that....ignorance and unconsciousness, and not some high-falootin' form of nationalism that thinks the rest of the world belongs to us...but I have my doubts. People never thought Rome would fall........................

p.s. by the way...the "FBI report" blames the Italians for getting Britain and the U.S. into a tizzy and amp'd up to go to war... Is the "intelligence" community that insane? Uh, me thinks that the little boys (because they aren't men) in the Oval Office are starting to grasp at straws...Sounds like kids on the playground... "But, Luigi and Mario made me do it." Keep graspin' Georgie Boy.....because you're starting to sound like these Texas mothers that bash the brains out of their own children and say that God made them do it. Thank the Heavens that some Republicans are starting to see George as big a cyst on the party. That's our only hope...3 more years of this crap.
