[Stiggers] Save Money With Pass-N-Gas

The following is an unpaid testimonial for the GST and LMHFD National Bank's Pass-N-Gas discount and roadside assistance card.

Big Roscoe: "A month ago, business was slow. My loyal customers were too broke to get down at Clubb Chicken Wing. And as gas prices skyrocketed, I raised the price of my six-piece wings and sweet-n-sour sookie-sookie-sauce snack combo (from $1.99 to $3.99), all because my food supplier added a delivery mileage fee to my bill.

"Then one day, during happy hour, Grandpa Pookie and several members of the Ghetto Science Team convinced my customers to fill out an application for a discount card. They talked about how the Pass-N-Gas card helps poor folk save money. That night, each customer received a Pass-N-Gas card. I use the discount card for my van and get the food supplies myself—no mileage fees.

"Today, Clubb Chicken Wing customers enjoy their happy hour because the six piece wings and sookie-sookie-sauce snack combo is $1.99—thanks to the Ghetto Science Team and the LMHFD National Bank's Pass-N-Gas discount card. Also, I use the Pass-N-Gas card during these moments when I need roadside assistance:

1. Hey, I locked my darn keys in the car!

2. Oops, no gas can.

3. You picked a fine time to leave me, loose wheel! (inspired by Kenny Rogers)

As G.W. makes the world go 'round, you need the Pass-N-Gas discount fuel and roadside assistance card to help you ease on down the road.

As G.W. makes the world go 'round, the working class and poor people must endure these hard yet exciting times. Times that challenge folk to be more creative and resourseful:This is what I imply in the Pass-N-Gass column. My suggestion is that folk work towards supporting and informing each other more. And I wrote this to remind myself: Life is what you make of it. In other words:"KEEP YOUR HEAD UP!" Peace, love and universal understanding.

i have so much respect for ken stiggers, but i sometimes think there is too much "credit" given to one person. There are other influences at work in the events going on in the world today. I just think we should look at the total picture before we make a conclusion. This takes nothing from ken's talent, i just wanted to throw that out there.

Too much "credit" for what, blkcons? What "one person"? Your posting is so vague that I'm getting your point. Could you be more specific so we can understand what you're trying to say? Which "conclusion"? Say what you're trying to say, please. Thanks.

lol. been told that before, Donna. i guess what i'm trying to say is that G.W. making the world go round is not always possible when outside forces and situations affect things in the world. to say that he is responsible for all the ills we are experiencing right now is to not openly admit that before his term that were problems brewing under the surface.

i have so much respect for ken stiggers, but i sometimes think there is too much "credit" given to one person.... i guess what i'm trying to say is that G.W. making the world go round is not always possible when outside forces and situations affect things in the world. Posted by: blkconservative on Sep 18, 05 | 7:54 pm I thank you for your response. The statement "G.W. makes the world go round" is a satirical parody of the song "People Make the World Go Round," written by Michael Jackson and made famous by the R&B group The Stylistics. Although it appears that I credit G.W. for the ills we are experiencing, I'm actually not. "G.W. makes the world go round " represents our society's -from past to present time--apathy now visibly manefested during G.W's tenure as president. I wote that statement after G.W.'s re-election. I believe that as a satirist my statement reflects or parallels the same sentiments as the writer....LOL...Did say that? Check out the chorus from the song "People Make the World Go Round;" But that's what makes the world go round The ups and downs a carousel Changing people's heads around Go underground young men People make the world go round For the poor and working class G.W.'s tenure represents a time of uncertainty that, I believe, is experienced around the world, and it seems as if he does make the world go 'round. Although I may be sarcastic, my purpose of writing the way that I do is to encourage and help people deal with what they are experiencing today. If it sounds as if i'm pointing out one person for all our ills, i'm sorry, sir. And I respect you as well. Peace, love and universal understanding

that's a good explaination, Ken. I read your columns, though, I'm guilty of not commenting about them. I normally stray away from the politics of everyday life---but I always get a good laugh by the way you parody it. keep up the great work, man. look forward to seeing you real soon. C
