Letter from Jesus

Monkey and Koncha

Like I've said before, the holidays are not a good time for me and I'm prone to scrooginess since my family is not so close to me anymore. I can be a big whiney titty baby.

Right now my decor is NOT up; it's all over my living room floor. I've been looking for the kick in the pants to get me in the spirit. First kick...Katrina Kids need help. I get overloaded at Christmas when it loses its spirit of giving. Around here, we've been so caught up in making it perfect for US that our "help others" had gone down the list of priorities. And I don't want to hear ANY OTHER THING my kids want for Christmas!

Then Jesus wrote this letter. Okay, not really. But it resonates with me.

"If you want to give me a present in remembrance of my birth, here is my wish list. Choose something from it. "

So what are y'all doing? Share your family traditions of giving. Or any family traditions. It's Christmas for Christ's Sakes!

Thanks so much for sharing this letter. When the debate started last year about the whole "holiday tree" and "Happy Holidays" thing, I thought that the ones making all this noise should focus on more important things like giving to the poor or praying for those Christians in other countries who are being jailed and martyred for their beliefs. There are much bigger fish to fry here. I think I just snapped out of my winter blues. :-)

:) L.W.-I'd love for you to come to my house and let's unfunk together. My cat just ate my wreath.

I think cats get in more trouble at Christmas time than any other time of the year. I shudder at the thought of having a large Christmas tree again because my cat kept trying to climb the thing and was either knocking off ornaments and branches or knocking over the whole tree. I now use a small fiber optic tree, but I still have to keep him from knocking that one over too.
