Here is an interview C.A. Webb did with me for his Coversations zine. (I have no idea if he's provided this link. If he has, there's two of them...so sue me)
Read. Learn. Worship.
Totally, kidding. But, I manage to come off sounding somewhat human.
How surprising for all of us.

Great, great stuff. I especially liked this bit: Words are power. Language is power. I actually say this to the kids I work with when I hear a less than desirable word come out of their mouth. I want them to understand this concept for themselves and then to make a better decision about the language they use in the future. People only know what they are taught. Maya Angelou has a quote that goes something like this: "I believe that words are things. Someday ... we’ll be able to measure the hostility or kindness that emanates from certain words ... I think they stick on the walls, they go into the upholstery, they go into your clothes, and finally into your very body." She was right. And, for that very reason when a child hears the word “bitch” enough, one day he will look at a woman and that word will personify them. They have ceased to become a person. Only a word. The objectification of women is perpetuated enough thru the media in this country without our youth disseminating it daily on the sidewalks using seemingly casual comments. There is a way to speak truth about a culture but to also uplift it at the same time. I would never speak out to limit someone else’s expression. Ever. But, I think that people should contemplate carefully what they put into the world. I sometimes have a hard time taking this advice myself. There are consequences for every action. Even if they are “just” words. Cheers, TH

Wow, that's really cool. All of a sudden I think I might buy extremely large sunglasses and hire a bodyguard. Please, who wishes to kiss my feet first?? ;) I totally appreciate the opportunity C.A. Ladd, I was wondering about that one myself....;)
