[New Releases] My Chemical Romance "The Black Parade"

My Chemical Romance's new album "The Black Parade" is the resurrection of alternative rock. Lately, alt. rock has survived only by those who started the movement (Kurt Cobain made millions last year). But there are some new kids on the block, and they have brought the thrashing guitars and angst-ridden lyrics their predecessors made popular along with them. Songs like "The End," "The Sharpest Lives" and "Teenagers" are filled with the teenage anger many empathized with and used to survive high school. But MCR's maturity, depth and musical talent are showcased on several tracks including "Cancer" and "Mama," as they tell the heart-wrenching story of losing a mother to cancer. "Mama" also features some of the best unsynthesized guitar playing of any up-and-coming band. And the best part of it all? They can reproduce all the sounds and fury live in concert. These guys are not another pop-punk band, but the future of rock music.

I don't know what music you've been exposed to but the terms "thrashing guitars" and "fury" bother me in connection to My Chemical Romance. Just the word "thrash" defines a category of rock that these guys are definately NOT in. "fury live in concert"? You mean like the Sex Pistols, early Slipknot, or Pig Destroyer? "These guys are not another pop-punk band, but the future of rock music." Are you suggesting that "pop-punk" is the future of rock music? I hope not, but I don't watch MTV or listen to 93.9 anymore anyway. I do think it was kinda cool that you labeled them "new kids on the block". I'm sure that MCR will be a "what were we thinking?" ten years from now. Opeth, Deftones, Lamb Of God, Pig Destoyer, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Slayer, Sepultura, Dying Fetus, Isis, Morbid Angel, Otep, Snot, Soulfly, Strapping Young Lad, and Cannibal Corpse are just a few suggestions. Did I mention PIG DESTROYER?
