Have you seen the Michael J. Fox ad? It is so painful to watch but very powerful.

Limbaugh actually suggested that Fox was either acting or was off his meds. He made the suggestion because he thought that Fox looked much worse in the ad that he had in other recent t.v. appearances. It turns out that ,apparently, Fox was indeed off his meds. He deliberately doesn't take his meds when doing things like this, to demonstrate the ravages of the disease. Limbaugh has also said that he has no problem whatosever with him not taking the meds in order to show what the disease does. Limbaugh is only objecting to the arguments made in the ad -- that is, he objects to the content.

Rush also said that he had been dupped into it by the Democrats....I mean come on! Don't he think the guy has a team lookin out for that kind of thing. What I was struck by when I saw it on CNN was how far the disease had indeed progressed. And he is so young. The meds are like anything we take in that eventually they won't work. The whole embryonic debate is a little beyond me but it sounds quite complex. of course I have let on that I do indeed listen to Rush at lunch. But "hey".....we did all have a thread about how we go to other blogs and post as well. It is just amazing to me how many outlets reverted to savage retort, as damage control, to head this off, even a right wind religious station.......my repubs are runnin scared.....it's obvious.

What was the savage retort? I'ma little confusd about what you mean by the outlets and the savage retort. I'm not being sarcastic or deliberately dense. If I am being dense I am coming by it honestly.

We decided to "honor" Limbaugh's comments as our "Word" this issue. He actually said that Michael J. Fox was "shameless" for doing the ad. Republicans will regret opposing stem cell research because it is morally incoherent. If embryos really are little citizens, why doesn't any Republican call for doing something with the 400,000 embryos currently stored in fertility clinics and scheduled to be discarded? It's a losing issue, and it's only going to look more idiotic with time.

Moral incoherence is everywhere, with every moral issue cast as a political issue. Name me an issue, and I can probably uncover its moral incoherence. I'm not sure that, by itself, moral incoherence is sufficient cause to abandon a given political position on an issue.

Oh, and I don't know the answer to your rhetorical question (i.e. "why doesn't any Republican call for doing something with the 400,000 embryos currently stored in fertility clinics and scheduled to be discarded?"). I've wondered about that myself.

"I'm not being sarcastic or deliberately dense. If I am being dense I am coming by it honestly". I know that GLB...and your many posts, you are certainly not dense I am just reacting and rather strongly at how strongly he and others have reacted to a campaign ad!......I can't believe he even joined in. I don't know.....since I found out about all of them...like Hannity, Gallager, Neil Bortz, Laura Ingram actually being invited into the oval office for a sit down with "W" I mean if that isn't proof positive of the slanted right wing juggernaut and thier NRC marching orders. But I digress......it was the hit about being dupped that sparked me. I mean can't someone who might have a little hope in stem cell activity actually have an opinion without being Dupped or Shameless? And then to hear Dobson and Coulter squawking it out....I wonder if she was smoking a Marlboro in front of him or if she had on one of those black sling cocktail numbers.....probalby enough to send him to Miss P's in Washington.....the nelly! charlatan! put on! that he is. OK deep breath......peace love.....peace love......08....08...08.....
