A guy is accused of killing his brother. His defense? He attacked a goat, and then the goat turned into his brother's dead body.
Umm, yeah.
LAGOS, Nigeria - A Nigerian murder suspect accused of killing his brother with an axe told police investigators he actually attacked a goat, which was only later magically transformed into his sibling's corpse, officials said Thursday.
The man, whose name wasn't released, offered police his explanation after his arrest on Tuesday in the death of his brother the previous day at Isseluku village in southern Nigeria.
"He said that the goats were on his farm and he tried to chase them away. When one wouldn't move, he attacked it with an axe. He said it then turned into his brother," Police Commissioner Udom Ekpoudom told the Associated Press....
According to the article, a lot of Nigerians believe in black magic, so a story like this is heard quite a lot from murder suspects. I wonder if there is ANYONE who would tell that story in the U.S. without fear of ridicule or a straight face. Then again, such a claim could be a platform for a temporary insanity plea, right?
What do you think?

i'm in no position to say that the man wasn't transformed into a goat by a malicious wizard hoping to damage both brothers. ...

I'm sticking with the goat theory. I for one welcome our new magical goat overlords should they cross the Atlantic!

What I think is that this reminds me a lot of when I read about the candidate for Russian President back in the mid-1990s who was campaigning on a platform to lower the boiling point of water in order to save energy. *shakes head* Best, Tim
