Week 1 In The Czech Republic: Jetlag

I always thought that jetlag thing was some kind of myth LOL. Ive heard stories about it from world travelers but didnt realize that the body is REALLY affected by time change. Prague is seven hours ahead of the US. Going to sleep while leaving Detroit and waking to the sunlight and a time of 11am when my body still thinks its 4am!!!!. Its almost 7pm here on Thursday and Im STILL catching up.
There are a few things right off the bat that will take some getting used to. Czechs dont like ice(I had lukewarm orange juice), they LOVE cheese(all kinds), Beer, and Rap music!!! And whats the deal with these electrical sockets. NOTHING I have can be plugged in. So no charger for the camera and I cant get any numbers out of my non-useable phone. My host is vegetarian and gas station sandwiches are just as bad here as they are at home. They've got Mcdonalds, but hey...gotta try something new right?
The showlast night was GREAT!!! Its amazing how receptive they are to American hiphop. Its a shame that I had to go half-way around the world to find fans that appreciate the music for the MUSIC and not the glitz. They dont care if you have a song on the radio or if youre video's playing on BET or MTV, they love a good show even despite the language barrier. I swear from the footage you would think they knew every word. Ironically, it showed me the arrogance of America. What foreign rap artist do you know that could come to the US and NOT speak English and have people PAY to come see them? What we see as a barrier, they dont. Its all about the music. Thats an ideal situation for me and Phinga.
Banner is about to arrrive we've got rest and rehearsal to do. My head is still ringing from all the Jim Bean we swigged last night(they're one of the tour sponsors). and by the way,Ive got a new energy drink named for me over here and Ill be bringing it back to the states toknock red bull from its roost LOL. But more on that later. Ciao

Tee, hee. Yep, jet lag will kick your butt. In a way, your post reminds me of that scene in "Pulp Fiction" between John Travolta and Samuel Jackson. "Le Big Mac." and "They have the metric system. They don't know what the f*ck a Quarter Pounder is." Kick European butt. Proverbially speaking, of course.

Jet lap plus Jim Beam sounds like a lethal combo, BTW. ;-)

Kamikaze, jet lag is indeed real, and more and more real for each year you are over 30. You're lucky to be over there in the summer, when you can get some sunshine (get outside during daylight hours - it helps re-set your body). Have fun, and there's probably a radio shack where you can get a converter for your plugs.

Seven hours ahead? My body can barely adjust when I go to Georgia. LOL I thought you knew about the difference with the plugs. Have you ever seen the Travelocity commercial when the garden gnome tries to plug in something in Europe and gets blown across the room? He asks, "Am I going to die?" ROTFL As far as the language barrier goes, I think Americans need to get with the program and stop expecting everyone to sound like them. We're 300,000 out of 6 billion. Hello? What about opera? Some Americans like opera, and not everyone can understand them either since it's usually in Italian.
