All, beware that there is some cyber-fraud occurring by some lowlifes out there. We just received this e-mail, which constitutes fraud, and it is being investigated. Obviously, I do not send e-mails out on behalf of candidates, so please send us anything suspicious you get so they can be added to the file. Here's one fraudulent e-mail:
Dear Brian
I want to tell you about Attorney General Jim Hood. Over the last four years, Attorney General Hood has been working hard to protect Mississippiâ•?s families from sexual predators and identity thieves and fighting for crime victims. Please join me in supporting his campaign because working together we can make sure that he continues that fight. Please take a moment to go to the campaignâ•?s website: http://www.jimhood07.com
Sincerely,
Donna Ladd

We figured how they're doing it, and making it look like other people are sending these e-mails: http://jimhood07.com/press/tell-a-friend/ We'll alert the AG's office that their site is being used in a fraudulent way. Maybe their new cyberfraud unit will take a minute to figure out who did it. Sigh.

Oh, y'all will eat this one up. Fraudman e-mailed Todd today making it look kind of, sort of like it was from me. Brace yourself for the horrible thing that I had to e-mail to the man I sleep with every night: "You suck." Chortle, snort, snicker. As I told Todd when he informed me about the horrible e-mail I had just sent him, "I told you "you suck" to your face every day!" The trashmen are out in droves.

I just got another fake e-mail calling me a "BITCH." These guys just don't get it. They must be completely bummed that caller ID has come online; they can't call up and breathe heavy in the middle of the night anymore. LOL.

If course, every post you make has your email address out there for the world to see. Change that in your profile settings if you don't want wierdos emailing you like this.

Lambda, this is my "public" e-mail address. It's hard to hide it from view. That doesn't excuse using my address to commit fraud.

Of course it wouldn't apply in your case since it's your company's address and the company is this actual web site and associated weekly. I'm talking about ordinary citizens who use the site. I'm telling them that if they don't want emails from strangers, or in this case fraudulent emails, they should go to their profile options and uncheck it so it doesn't broadcast their email address for the world to see. That's Internet 101 anyway. Protection from weirdos and from spam bots that harvest email addresses. Sorry if you took it as me condoning the use of your email address.

Of course you're right. I thought you were scolding me, but it wasn't a big deal. ;-) What's funny is that the fraud-troll sent at least one e-mail to a private account that he/she should not have known, giving a clue, of course, about the person's identity. It's really, really stupid to stoop to fraud. It is funny that they used the AG's site to do it. Maybe they want to get caught and be publicly humiliated for having too much time on their pathetic hands.
