I'm not kidding. I am completely and utterly enamored with that sassy little monkey who wants so badly to get out of Tupelo, er, his cage in the Tupelo zoo. I just love his tenacity. I find myself rooting for the little bugger, even thought that's probably not a good thing. Where were he go? What would he do? Could he defend himself? What would he eat? But, still.
The JFP is now an a friend on his myspace page. I mean, it was the least we could do.

You know its bad when a monkey has a MySpace page and I don't. Shame, shame, shame. Perhaps Oliver and Lisa Presley could run off together and live in the Madison area along with Elvis' millions. He could make a few extra dollars wheeling in carts at Walmart. Defend himself by throwing his feces. And eat what every red blooded, sophisticated Mississippian eats: Boiled peanuts.

I didn't know Tupelo even had a zoo until the monkey got out. But not only did get loose once, but he did it twice. That is bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S!

Something is afoul with that monkey. Escaping twice and actually picking a the locks, not once but twice? I don't buy it. If he had somehow broken the locks maybe, but not picking them. What did he pick them with? Did he pull a hair-pin out of his wig? Is he running around with SELockandKey's lock picking set or key maker? No, I don't buy this at all. Sounds like a case of publicity stunt and now he's on MySpace posting blogs about being famous and begging folks to come on down and see him! Thursday morning, on the Howard Stern show (Sirius Satellite radio), Stern sidekick and morning news reporter Robin Quivers reported that the monkey escaping happened in ATLANTA. So much for fact checking.

I didn't know either. JFP should make it more prominent on the front page!

TUPELO — An animal rights group has asked federal inspectors to investigate the treatment of a now-famous escape artist monkey at a Tupelo zoo. The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals this week filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Agriculture against the Tupelo Buffalo Park and Zoo, claiming it provided inadequate confinement for its white-faced capuchin, Oliver. If I was PETA, I would interrogate Baby. The suspect's companion always knows something.
