At the same time, I keep wondering about the city council meeting tomorrow. I wonder if A-1 Pallets will stay on the agenda or be taken off at the last minute again.

I wonder if his wife will be dragged into another embarrassing situation? He has been sited going in a church revival, then leaving in a motorcade with the blue lights flashing and on to Farish St. sitting on a porch eating barbeque and with the blue lights flashing. Seems as if mania has set in again. The State of The City should be a one liner: "I have screwed up the City of Jackson(PERIOD) What else could melton saw to the citizens of this city? Just think of all of the pain and financial devistation he has caused. This should be a speech of farewell.

Any Melton speech that doesn't include the words "I hereby resign" is a disappointment.

He will be flanked by the City Council, the City’s CAO and Department Directors. "Flanked!" They really used 'flanked' to describe who would accompany him? What a thuggish term to use!

Yeah whats taking them so long with these charges, i cant wait to be watching midday mississippi and the screen flashes breaking news and bert case says the words majority of jacksonians been waiting to hear, Frank Melton has just been indicted by a federal grand jury, not county or state federal with no local political ties so he will have to resign and than the monkey thats on jackson's back will get beat off with a sledgehammer the same one he used on ridgeway.

i don't know if anyone else went, but you didn't miss anything if you didn't. it was nothing more than him blabbering on about how we need to help the kids, tearing down houses, and of course, church (seperation of church and state anyone?) . of course he mentioned NOTHING about the millions of dollars the city is off budget or any real solution for it. and his solution to crime seems to be getting young men to pull their pants up and throwing lots of people in jail... great stuff. or not

that is a very brief summary of his 45+ minute speech, but that's basically all it was. just him running his mouth, doing the whole "i hate politics" bit, and talking about how he wants (this is a rough quote) "every kid in school monday thru friday, and in church on sunday." he also mention how he's going to make sure all violent criminals are held without bond, which seems very impractical to me. i don't even know if he has the authority to do that. there was too much nonsense for me to bother writing about, when i'm sure someone on the jfp staff will write an article on it soon. i saw darren there. but he might have just been talking pictures...

just him running his mouth, doing the whole "i hate politics" bit Why get involved in politics if you hate it so much? I think he's just appealing to other folks who hate it to get them on his side.
