Judge Kidd Rules Against John Reeves

Judge Winston Kidd has just ruled that the election results in the District 71 race between Adrienne Wooten and incumbent John Reeves should be certified, and that no special election need occur. Reeves was challenging Wooten's win due to voting irregularities.

For the record, I expect that Adrienne Wooten will be a very good legislator. I wish we had two decent choices in every race we face. Congratulations to her. (And I'm thrilled to see another woman up there.)

This is good news. I'm not making a judgement of who would be the better choice. The victory here is that this Judge would not set a president by cherry-picking precincts to re-vote. There are always "voting irregularities; however, tere is the provision for the affidavit vote. We do need to fix whatever is broken and I think that voters will have to become better stewards of their voting rights.
