In a TV segment that is drawing its 15 minutes of fame, Frank Melton invited WLBT cameras into his home to show his scars up close and personal to dispel "rumors" that he didn't actually have the operation he said he had. The question that remains for us is: Why didn't he simply release his medical records as many other public servants have done over the years? That would have seemed more tasteful than taking of his clothes on television.

This was at the bottom of WLBT's 10 p.m. report Friday: Said Melton,"...it disturbs me that some people are very stupid. And this puts everything to rest. You know there are all kinds of things about why was he over there, this, that and the other...well, here it is." He continued, "...bottom line is I'm ready to go. Doctors did a great job; I'm up and at 'em. I walk three miles a day and let's get it on." Mayor Melton is scheduled to begin cardiac rehab at St. Dominic hospital on February 22nd.

That video was truly more than I needed to see. Note to Mr. Melton: Keep your shirt ON.

Right, Tom. Medical records would have sufficed. I'm really surprised that WLBT went along with this. Bert Case could have just mentioned that he saw Melton's scars, and folks would have believed it. (Except the ones who don't trust anything Melton says anymore, but he's made his own bed on the dishonesty front.) It does seem that he is likely not caring for his health, however. I mean, he was out at the Upper Level at 2 a.m. Sunday on some sort of raid? His doctors can't approve of that. Not to mention his probation officer.

I don't think good advice will stop Melton. You know, there are so many houses in Jackson just waiting to be destroyed....

The chest and leg scars seemed old. The scars above the abdomen seem more recent. However, we will never know since medical records are confidential and FM isn't going to share them. I wish some of our leading surgeons would shed some light on this "miraculous" recovery time of SUPER Frank!

As I said in an earlier post, those scars looked really, really old, and they looked to be already healed. No one heals that fast. Something's fishy. I think he had the surgery a while ago, and didn't tell anybody about it (except Frank Bluntson) until recently. That explains why he's swimming and lifting his arms so soon.
