Good choices! It's time HJJ got recognized for being Jackson's first black mayor, and for turning the tide of past mayors who only focused on improving interests east of I-55. He wanted to improve Jackson for everyone; and that got him in trouble with fringe elitists groups both black and white.

Can't argue with that. Fortunately, what he did is still bearing fruit--and will for many years to come. Cheers, TH

Both honorees are entirely deserving of this recognition. And, Tom, you're right. Harvey's work is still bearing fruit. I will certainly be at the Friendship Ball to help pay tribute to them both.
