Philmo Jones: "When I lost my good-paying corporate job, after the Twin Towers fell on Sept. 11, a series of unfortunate events changed my life.
"It all started the day I left the unemployment office, after being denied unemployment benefits. I called that part of my life 'Joblessness.'
"I lived off of my savings and drove over a thousand miles to attend job fairs and interviews. After being turned down for a new corporate job, I walked dejectedly to my Mercedes-Benz, which I thought was parked in the corporate building's parking lot. But I couldn't find my car!
"Then I yelled, 'Someone has stolen my Benzzzzzzzzz!' Hours later I found out the fate of my vehicle. Had I gotten that corporate job, I would have kept the Mercedes Benz.
"Anyway, I called that part of my life 'Repossession.'
"The rest is predictable. When the utility companies cut off my electricity, gas, water, phone, cable and high-speed Internet, I called that part of my life 'Disconnection.' And when my landlord threw out my prized possessions and changed the lock on my apartment door, I called that part of my life 'Eviction.'
"Currently, I drive my gas-guzzling hoopty from my humble abode to my 12-hour-a-day, low-paying job at Y'all Mart. I call this part of my life 'CRAPPY!'"
