We're getting a flood of new members. I've activated a new batch just now, so hop on and post if you've been waiting for activation. Remember, all, that we have tightened up our entry policies a bit and are shying away from unknown Yahoo and Hotmail accounts due to past abuse. If you want to sign up under one of those accounts, you will need to get in touch with us directlly and verify your identity first. Also, I remind all new members to read through the blog rules before you post and interact with others. It is important to remember that we are a privately owned Web site, and you must abide by the rules, or your account will be suspended. And if you are suspended and then come back under a different e-mail address, we will suspend that account and delete all posts under it, regardless of what they are, per our rules.
The key is decorum, respect for other users and self-regulation. Follow the rules and enjoy this forum that we are offering for your conversational pleasure. ;-)

You're excellent, Iron. You take (and give) a lickin' and keep on tickin'. And you have singlehandedly proved for years that I don't kick off people for simply disagreeing with me. ;-)

Iron, this board wouldn't be the same without a Republican to pick on. ;)

There are plenty of Republicans around here to pick on. And we all know that jerks and trolls come in all political stripes. The Democratic chick last week who showed up telling us how much the JFP and our young writers have sucked for years now because I un-endorsed Blount comes to mind. She then tried to keep it up in e-mail, telling me that we're on the same side but oh, how I've disappointed her of late ... until I told her to take her condescending B.S. elsewhere (this woman, by the way, has never been in touch with our paper except to ask for something; not to compliment or cheer us on). It's funny how some people feel so much privilege about this privately owned Web site that they think we're all supposed to just sit here and take as much garbage and personal attacks that they want to fling from their unhappy little perches. The second they're booted, they start whining about their "free speech" rights and how the "free press" isn't "free" for them to carpet bomb. Sorry. Just a vent. This particular week, I'm more sick of pseudo-immigrant-hating-progressives than I am of corporate-spewing-conservatives. (Give me a few days.)

Yes, Ironghost is needed. I walk with a limp and sore limbs today because of all the times he jumped out the bushes and beat me down while I wasn't ready. But I still like him. Don't really know why though!

I think it's because he doesn't take it personally when people disagree with him and, like the rest of us who post here often, he likes a good conversation and debate. Thanks for sharing him, Lady. ;-)

He also lets me know when I'm pouring it on too thick. I thank him for that, I think! Somtimes I need to be told. I can go on forever like the ever-ready battery.
