Then, go get involved. This e-mail came around today, explaining how. Verbatim from the Mississippi Democratic Party:
If you are interested in being elected to a County Democratic Executive Committee, or being a delegate to the 2008 Democratic Convention in Denver Colorado these are the dates for you to know!. The Precinct Caucus is on Feb 23rd, then the March 15th County Caucus (when County Executive Committees and Chairs are chosen/elected), then beginning in April is the 1st election process to choose officers for the Congressional District positions and to become a delegate to the Convention in Denver: April 5th is the 1st Congressional District Convention, April 19th for the 2nd Congressional District Convention, April 26th for the 3rd Congressional District Convention and May 3rd for the 4th Congressional District Convention. The STATE CONVENTION where we choose our State Party Executive Committee and other positions for the state party is on May 31st and is last opportunity to be elected a MS delegate to the convention in Denver Colorado.
The MS Dem Party has instituted a very aggressive Precinct Organizational plan with the goal to ensure that our volunteers are helping to spread the Democratic message. People listen to their neighbors about voting. The precinct is the lowest common denominator within the political structure and therefore it is essential that there is an organized base. Please mark these dates and plan to join us to try to turn Mississippi back to a pleasant shade of BLUE.

That's probably obvious to everyone, Cat. However, it might make it more inviting to prospective Democrats to explain what it entails to become a Democrat? Like, does it involve a blood test? That kind of thing. Unless y'all aren't prospecting for new members at this time; it rather has seemed that way, of late. ;-)

Please keep us posted on these dates as they get closer. I would like to see a concerted effort to bring some new, fresh thinking to the Mississippi Democratic Party.

I dont think they're actually interested Gen..Id like to see a concerted effort to perhaps start an effective third party..Give folks another choice. Cuz although I tend to side with Dems on some issues, they're just as screwed up as the Re-pubes(pronounced ree-peewwbs lol). I think Id limit myself and my thinking to just join up at this time.
