Bishop Dr. Phillip Coleman, Sr., Th.D., pastor of Greater Bethlehem Temple Apostolic Church, died Tuesday from cancer. He was 81.
Although I am not a member of his church now, I was a member there for 12 years. I can tell you from personal experience that Bishop Coleman, or Bishop, as everyone called him, was a true man of God who deeply cared about his congregation and the community in general. Yes, he was very "old-school" and I did not always agree with him, but I can say that overall, he had the members' best interests at heart.
I give my sincerest condolences to the Coleman family, close friends of Bishop Coleman, Greater Bethlehem Temple Church and the Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith.
