In light of the recession blues, high gas prices, and drop in house values, how do you save money? Let's let this be a forum for folks to collaborate on how
For me, I am doing a few things:
1. Getting a roomate - cuts my rent in half!
2. Biking - buying a bike means exercise and less gas usage (carpooling also helps)
3. Less Cable - who needs TIVO?
4. Dining in - bring friends over for dinner (oh, and have them bring something!)

Garage sales! Sell what you don't need for extra dough, or start bargain hunting to save dough. Join a Freecycle group or find groups online that barter or trade goods and services (e.g., a haircut for a mowed lawn).

Beanie weenies, potted meat, , nabs, crackers and water, et al, all of which can be gotten from the dollar store. Move back with Mom and Dad who is sick of you after 20 something odds years of feeding and picking up stuff after you. Get a girlfriend or boyfriend with some money. Pool your money with friends. Eat every other day. Get another job. Tell your girlfriend or boyfriend he or she will have to spend more time being with you and less time dining out. Get a girlfriend or boyfriend who can cook. I'll get back with some more.
