His name is popping up on at least one list, per Wall Street Journal. (h/t Folo)

Folo also notes that early Obama-supporter Ray Mabus is in the mix too. According to MSNBC, he's being considered for Education and/or Energy Secretary.

I was happy to hear that we have two Mississippians being considered for Sec. of Ed./Energy. Both are good choices, in my opinion; however, the competition is really stiff according to an article I read in the Wash. Post. I also made a blog in the Post to support Ronnie Musgrove. This could be a real plus for MS and our status in education (bottom of the list). What's up with Bennie Thompson and Ronnie Musgrove? Benny did not give much support to Ronnie during his Senate race.

Benny says Ronnie didn't give much support to him over the years. Benny says he voted for him though. Benny is no fool.

I voted for Musgrove and would do it again but he should learn that he needs to publicly support other democratic candidates runing for office in the State of Mississippi and inturn he will recieve their support when he runs for a public office. You can not base your campaign on being ultra conserative and expect both democrats and moderate republicans to support you.

Have any of you ever campaigned in all white areas of north Mississippi? I've made phone calls and canvassed up there. I doubt wearing your Bennie Thompson button will be helpful. Who may be worse off with one less Dem Senate vote for a progressive policy? Who gains? What Dems have shown they know how to win a statewide race?
