You have to read this Orwellian speech by Veep Dick Cheney this week in which he proclaims that his borrow-and-spend government does not torture, respects the Constitution and "treats tax dollars with respect and restraint." Better yet, read the hilarious annotated version on DailyKos, called "The Wonderful World of Cheney":
And then, he farted candy and rainbows. And all the little woodland creatures came out from under the floorboards to help sew him a magnificent new dress for the ball.
Giggle.

So many ironies in Cheney's speech, he could write songs for Alanis Morissette. So much for treating our tax dollars and the Constitution with respect, considering how he and his buddies misused our tax dollars on funding wars that were not needed to be fought and thus making less dollars available to fund things we need here (such as health care for all children and shoring up our infrastructure), and how his government are subverting the Constitution with the Patriot Act and tapping into our phone lines without required court orders.

With trepidation about violating JFP's user agreement, but willing to risk it, Dick Cheney is a War Criminal. His impeachment is a moral imperative. It's a shame that the Democratic leadership in the House doesn't have the courage to impeach him. There are at least two bills (one for Bush one for Cheney) of impeachment that should be advanced in the House.

The repugnant party is tanking because: the chickens are coming home to roost; God doen't like that much ugly; Coulter, Limpbaugh, Hannity and Liars Larson are members; the sh1t done hit the fan and it ain't pretty (not to mention its odoriferous); the devil wants his soldiers to come back home; and, most of all, America wants, needs and demand change.

I heard Chaney deliver this speech. Orwellian is a title that fits perfectly; however, Hitler's List would also fit. What are these folks thinking. Could Americans be so shallow or naive to allow this madness to continue???????? It is embarrassing to think that this Administration has created a financial climate wherein so many tax paying Americans are now classified as WELFARE recipiants. "Your check will be in the mail by the 1st week of May."

Ray, I have no clue what you're saying. Anyways. I love how you purposefully misspell words. Very original. What "change" does America want? America is asleep, or at the mall, and they *want* these rebate, errr... "redistribution of wealth" checks so they can go shop and buy crap they don't need. Your party voted for these checks. They are in majority. The president called for it, but YOUR party made it happen. Don't dodge it now Ray. The republicans = the democrats. Period. When socialist/communist Obama is elected, are you going to go hardcore "Obama can't do no wrong it's all the "repugnants" fault!" Justjess says: "Could Americans be so shallow or naive to allow this madness to continue????????" Are you kidding me? Americans, far and wide, are throwing civil rights away so that the government will protect them. Well, most of their civil rights. As long as they get their paycheck on time, and they can go buy their new cars and flatscreens, who cares? When my "Welfare Check" comes in May, I'm going to spend it on ammunition.

Reading these preferred dominated crappie statements only reminds me of why Mississippi is always 49th and 50th. I appreciate the opportunity to cast a vote for a qualified african american for President in 2008. After waging a war in Iraq on the false pretense of WMD, trillions of dollars sented down a black hole, 3000 lives dead, and little or no money spent on strenghtening the infrastructure; where driving over a bridge in Minnesota collapses and kill taxpaying citizens. Talk a laxative.

Thanks!

I like you onetwog. You must be an accidental comic, like LawClerk, because you made me laugh. LawClerk you need to try Jah's Love. Third World made a song with that title. I do note that a republican so against welfare/socialism/benevolence isn't giving the mioney back to the government or to someone who needs it. Like Bush and Cheney said repugnants is investing the money to kill people. No heart, no conscience and no belief in love = sadness. Sadness without some help makes one a dull and scary person.

With ammo being as expensive as it is now, with the war and all, I need government subsidies to help me afford it. I'm hoping that other people will spend this money on ammo or guns as well. I think that'd upset the democrats, especially pelosi, to know that "her" money is being used on guns.

No comic, just an american who love this country, and just happen to be born with a brain. I am sick and tried of the preferred dominated opinions, lies and spin. People can have different opinions but this does not translate into fact. Making false statements over and over again does not transform into truth; it merely not shows the true and selfish motives of the spinner.

Well Onetwog when you become the guage, decider, measuring-stick, estimate and standard for truth and falsity, your appeal and opinions will finally take wings with me! Not before. Where were you when the spins of all spins occurred for the last 7 years or so by the worse spin doctors of all times. Nowhere to be found I bet. Now, at last, you've found a place, conscience and reason to complain. I'm so sorry that you don't like my opinions. However, they will keep coming as fast as I can find time to create and write them. There are no spins on my part, in my opinion. As far as I'm concerned, republicans are everything and worse that I have called them. Your school of thoughts or accounts of facts aren't the only viable ones. I'm not surprised that you think they are though, as you're Americans as apple pie. A spoled and gone bad apple pie, no doubt.

Ray Carter my comments were not directed at you or you opinion. My comments were a direct assault on the hate and untruths of the so called conservatives, who show no love but for their own interest; many not all use that title for covert reasons.

Clearly the Republican Party is having problems; the primary voters are overwhelmingly choosing to vote in the Democratic primaries. I think the reasons have long-term effects: 1. Younger voters are turned off by the moral authoritarianism of the social conservatives. They tend to have a "live and let live" philosophy, and even if they're evangelicals, they don't want Government to enforce their beliefs. 2. Consumers are upset at the power of lobbyists to control legislation. Any time one of the presidential candidates is portrayed as being supported by a big-money interest (left or right), that candidate has lost voter support. That tends to hurt Republicans, who have been financed by large business interests since the late 19th Century. 3. Americans have a strong isolationist sentiment. The lengthy involvement in Iraq, and the shifting accounts of the success of the US mission there, have turned off a lot of otherwise conservative people. That being said, can Republicans re-cast themselves in accordance with their rhetoric -- being the party of individual liberty and devoting military resources only to defend America's vital interests? It's not impossible. And can the Democrats get their heads screwed on backward, allow themselves to be dominated by special interests, and fail to deliver on the promise of change? Yes, that is sadly, all too possible.
