... and to celebrate Jackson's impending boom! See you at the art museum tonight. Dress anyway you want, up or down; opens to the public at 8 p.m. The first two hours, from 6 to 8 p.m., will be an invitation-only reception, and then the party opens to the public with a cash bar after 8 p.m. We will give awards at 8:15 p.m. DJ Phingaprint will provide the dance music. Free admission.
If you bring a digital camera, we'll be posting reader galleries of party photos, so get us a CD this week if you're interested! And, yes, bring your flyers about upcoming events and the like. You are welcome to PROMOTE what you're doing for the city. Don't be shy.
If you placed in any of the awards and did not receive an invitation (or you're an advertiser, freelancer, public figure, media person, etc.) and did not get your invite to the reception, please call Kimberly Griffin at 601.362.6121 ext. 1.
View a map and get more info about the party here.

patience is a virtue! Farts. I prayed for patience in the fourth grade when I was making my Confirmation. The nun who asked me which virtue I would like to ask God for told me to "be careful...it doesn't always come in the packages one would like." I prayed for it anyway. Turns out the nun knew what she was talking about....I found God most often teaches you patience by frustrating the sh1t out of you.

Lori, I was always told in church to NEVER pray for patience. The Bible says that "tribulation worketh patience", so if you ask for patience, expect tribulation!

L.W. I'm pretty sure the nun was trying to tell me the same thing. Must be some "underground" praying secret I'd never heard of. I should have bowed to her superior praying knowledge. Since it happened when I was twelve (it was the seventh grade...I lied without meaning to) I was kind of hoping that God would forget. No such luck. :)
