The country has spoken very plainly. Obama can definitely claim a mandate for his policies at this point. Remarkable, really, considering how many people thought race would get in his way.

I heard a couple of people say that Obama can't claim a mandate or a landslide because the popular vote is a little more than half. I don't know what they consider a mandate. 70% of the popular vote, maybe?

Seems to me we squeaked by. Squeaking by all that hate that Palin and McCain were dishing out was a arduous job by any measurement. Boy, I tell you Palin was the embodiment, confederacy, unification, blending and cartelling of Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis, Ronald Reagan, J. B. Stoner, Jim Eastland, Miss Anne, Elizabeth Dole, David Duke, Bay Buchannon and Kay Bailey Hutchinson coming at us Negroes at the same time. We didn't know whether to shimmy, shake, run and hide or go back to the fields. Fortunately, we all got together and voted. Hell, I tried to vote twice to keep Palin from being vice-president. Palin even scared some forgotten and dazed Negroes back into their African ancestry. I saw one Negro walking the ghettoes he hadn't seen in 40 years bent over and singing, "Nobody Know the Troubles I've Seen."

Funny, Walt. Our State just claimed another last: We have one of the highest unemployment rates in the country. Will the majority of Mississippians spend the next four years debating what percentage of the vote Obama won and bragging about MS holding on to its status of being a "red state." It is now time for our elected officials and the electorate to get together and figure out how MS can become a team player and become more supportive of the team who holds the purse string. Being a "red state" means nothing if the state is bleeding high negatives.

Speaking of the president and pardons I hear George is pardoning everyone from Ted Stevens to Ted Bundy. I'm thinking of asking him to pardon the french (curse words) that comes to mind every time I think of him and the republican party. Go George Bush and take Cheney, Condo, Rove and the rest with you,. The way to screw the greatest country on earth.

I don't know where to put this, but I think it's interesting to note that William "Dollar Bills" Jefferson lost his bid for re-election to Congress this weekend. I'm glad the winner is another monority but sad he's of the repugnant party. We picked up a seat in Ohio, I think. Keeping your money in your defreezer causes great suspcion and fallout which is why I use a bank instead. I expect Dollar Bills to be found innocent because it's neither unusual or wrong to steal, cheat or take kickbackswhen you're from Loose-Anna or serving in the nation's capital.
