No matter what the weather, dark clouds of animosity will hover over Oxford on Friday. It's time for the Egg Bowl (11:30 a.m., Ch. 12/105.9 FM/97.3 FM). There are two major plot lines. The Rebels want to win a spot in the Cotton Bowl and get some payback for last year's collapse in Starkville. The Bulldogs want to end this dismal season on a positive note and spoil the Rebels' plans.

Talk about getting spanked like a red-headed stepchild. Go Rebels! Wonder if Croom will stil have a job Monday?

I wonder about Croom too. That was an embarrassing loss yesterday, on top of losses to Louisiana Tech, Georgia Tech and a Tennessee team that's not good.

I think he will be given one more year. If he doesn't make drastic changes with the offensive coaching staff for next season, he won't last past the next Egg Bowl.

I'm not really surprised that Croom resigned or was fired. I pointed out about the embarrassing losses a couple of posts ago. I think yesterday was the last straw. By Croom resigning, the Bulldogs will not have to pay the buyout that would've been due it he been fired.
