Andrew Mullins, special assistant to the Chancellor at Ole Miss, told ABC News that postponing the debate would be "devastating" and that the university has invested millions in the debate scheduled for Friday night.
Mullins also noted that if the Commission on Presidential Debates asks the campus to hold the debate at a later date, he is not sure the university would be able to accommodate them.
"It's huge. You cannot just say that you're not going to do this thing," Mullins said. "I don't have any idea whether we do the debate" at a later date. "(We) probably wouldn't do it."
Mullins says the debate will not be called off until they hear from the Commission on Presidential Debates.

Is McCain so sheltered in his lifestyle of the rich and famous that he has no idea what kind of economic impact this will have on Oxford and our state, not to mention everyone being paid to help with the debate? I just can't get over it. Didn't I hear that Ole Miss spent more than $5 million getting ready for this debate?
