The highlights: Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame celebrates Black History Month. ... State and Ole Miss lose on the road. ... JPS day at the MHSAA State Tournament.

1. Celebration: Jackson's Tyrone Keys headlines the Missississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum's Black History Month celebration. In case you've forgotten, Keys starred at Mississippi State and Callaway High before winning a Super Bowl ring with the Chicago Bears.

2. Men's college basketball: Tennessee 81, Mississippi State 76. The Bulldogs' NCAA hopes aren't dead, but they're on life support.

3. Men's college basketball: Auburn 77, Ole Miss 64. Ditto for the Rebels.

4. High school basketball: It's JPS day at the MHSAA Boys and Girls State Tournament. The Callaway and Jim Hill boys and the Forest Hill and Murrah girls will be in action.

5. College football: Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt kicks two players off the team. Their crimes were "violation of team rules" and lack of talent.
