"Gee's Bend" is based on the story of a quilting community of women in Alabama, and documents the history of an all-black community, Gee's Bend. Spanning more than 50 years, including the Civil Rights Movement, the play follows the relationship of the women to each other, to history and to Gee's Bend, and features beautiful gospel melodies. Some of the quilters of Gee's Bend will be present at the Feb. 4 and 5 performances, and audience members will be able to participate in an Actor's Chat after the Feb. 4 performances.
