Picture a large quiet room, only lit by the soft glow of orange-yellow flames illuminating from candelabras positioned all around you. Then add the awe-inspiring moan of the cello, joined by other strings and woodwinds. The Mississippi Symphony Orchestra's intimate annual concert makes you feel like you're the only one in the room, despite music lovers packing out the small auditorium every year to hear Mozart By Candlelight. Highlights of the evening include Mozart's Serenata Notturna, 34th Symphony and a performance by pianist Cahill Smith, winner of the MSO Young Artist Competition.
