In a survey of gasoline prices released by the company Lundberg Survey earlier this week, Jacksonians currently pay the lowest prices at the pumps, nationwide. With the average price across the country at $2.49 a gallon, capital city drivers are paying around $2.22.
Gas prices dropped a bit overallabout 7 cents a gallon in the past two weeks. Compared to a year ago, the average is $1.51 cents lower. Prices peaked just about this time in 2008, coming in at a record $4.11 a gallon.
At the other end of the spectrum, Honolulu drivers currently pay the highest average price: $3.03 for a gallon of regular.
