I was quite surprised when I saw that the Eagles beat Georgia Tech on Saturday. Hopefully, they can make another upset bid on tonight. As for Ole Miss, remember, Western Kentucky beat them in the regionals about five years or so ago. They came real close of beating the Rebels the other night. Could it be deja vu all over again?

BTW, there were two big stories that emerged out of the regionals this weekend that didn't involve Mississippi. On Saturday night, Texas defeated Boston College 3-2 in a game that went 25 innings! That's the longest game in college baseball history. On Sunday, Florida State defeated Ohio State 37-6! That is the most runs ever scored in regionals history.

Doctor S wonders if Ole Miss and Southern Miss have any pitching left. But Western Kentucky and Georgia Tech may have similar problems. The most interesting story out of Oxford is WKU's Chad Cregar. He's an Oxford native who apparently wasn't recruited by Ole Miss. Cregar played at Northwest Mississippi CC before signing with the Hilltoppers. He's been putting on a show in Oxford. Cregar had seven hits in two games on Sunday, including monster home runs in each.
