Cookie Dough Recall Announced

photo

Nestlé USA announced today that it is voluntarily recalling its Toll House refrigerated cookie dough products after the FDA and the Centers for Disease Control notified the company it was investigating reported E. coli infections that may be related to the recalled products. Nestlé said in a release that E. coli has not been detected, but they are recalling the raw dough because "the health and safety of our consumers is paramount."

Nestlé also strongly advises consumers that raw cookie dough should never be eaten, a message the company says appears prominently on its packaging. Cookies made from refrigerated dough are safe when baked as directed.

If you have purchased Nestlé Toll House cookie dough in any variety, flavor or form, you can return the dough to the store where you bought it for a full refund. You can call 1-800-559-5025 for further information, or go to the Nestlé Web site for a complete list of recalled products.
