Word went around last week that JFP friend Amy Haimerl had done a piece about Jackson, and Farish Street, for Fortune Small Business. The story is now published here on CNN Money where Amy is an editor. Also see her "Indie Jackson" piece about the St. Paddy's parade and the Sweet Potato Queens. Oh, and another friend was in the office yesterday who works for NPR's Planet Money (and is from Jackson, originally). She was saying how she was struck with the positive aspects of Jackson's development and growing vibrancy. And she's in the business of reporting some pretty depressing stuff these days. So that's good news. We have to keep getting the word out about the good stuff happening here.

Does anyone know of any efforts to improve upon the residential area of the Farish Street District? This entertainment district seems to be acting as more of an extension of the convention center and new downtown projects than the historic neighborhood itself.
