The trial of Byron De La Beckwith for the murder of Jackson civil-rights activist Medgar Evers is a monumental event in local history. After evading justice for years, De La Beckwith was finally found guilty and sentenced to life in prison in 1994. P. Sanders McNeal, a Jackson courtroom sketch artist, was part of it all. In an exhibit at Bryant Galleries, McNeal displays her work from the trial, some of which has never been available for viewing. She, along with Clarion-Ledger reporter Jerry Mitchell, will discuss the trial experience and other related events.
