Head to New Stage Theater this weekend for "Smokey Joe's Cafe."

It's not over until the fat lady sings. Tuesday are general elections in Jackson. Now is not the time to sit it out only to watch your candidate lose. Absentee Voting: Attorney General Jim Hood's office sent a release yesterday reminding Jackson voters who will be out of town for the Tuesday general election that the deadline to vote absentee is this Saturday, May 30 at noon. Mailed ballots must be received by 5 p.m. on Monday. If you have questions about voting, please see Answers to Election Day Questions. Today, stop by Greek Fest 2009 for lunch or after work at Holy Trinity St. John the Theologian Greek Orthodox Church. The festival opens at 11 a.m. Tonight. come on up to the roof at Fondren Corner for Salsa Mississippi's dance party starting at 9 p.m.

Saturday is play time, starting at 11 a.m. in the Clinton National Guard Armory when the Magnolia Roller Vixens take on he Biloxi Roller Derby. See the JFP's Donna Ladd take on WAPT's Dawn Dugle for the title of Twitter Queen. Then, at 5:30 p.m. check out Mississippi Brilla Futbol at Mississippi College when they go up against the Baton Rouge Capitals. For the slightly more sedate, you can learn about hummingbirds in the Clinton Community Nature Center at 10 a.m., head to Lemuria Books for a signing of "The Good Human Man" at 2 p.m., or go north to Renaissance at Colony Park in Ridgeland for the Fine Art Festival starting at 11 a.m.

On Sunday, head to Sophia's in the Fairview Inn for brunch, then head to New Stage for the matinee performance of "Smokey Joe's Cafe" at 2:30 p.m. In the evening, plan on attending the Get Out the Vote Rally II for Democratic mayoral candidate Harvey Johnson Jr. at 5 p.m. at the Alamo Theater, featuring lots of great music for your enjoyment.
