City Issues Boil Water Notice

Verbatim statement:Due to two recent water main breaks, one located on Woody Drive and one located at 1539 Woodburn Street, the City of Jackson Water/Sewer Utilities Division has issued a precautionary boil water advisory until further notice for the following areas:

• [100 - 400] Woody Drive (between Terry Rd and Monticello Drive)
• [3100-3199] Reno Street
• [3100-3199] Sylvester Street
• [3100-3199] Whitten Rd
• 1521, 1529, 1539 Woodburn Street

THIS ADVISORY AFFECTS APPROXIMATELY 100 CUSTOMERS that are served by the surface water system. THIS NOTICE AFFECTS ONLY CUSTOMERS IN THE AREA LISTED. THIS NOTICE DOES NOT AFFECT CUSTOMERS SERVED BY JACKSON'S WELL WATER SYSTEM.

This is a precautionary advisory. This notice does not mean that your water is unsafe, but it does mean that you must take precaution and boil your water before use. All customers are advised to boil their drinking water until further notice. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute for the following: cooking or baking, making ice cubes, taking medication, brushing teeth, washing food, mixing baby formula or food, mixing juices or drinks feeding pets, washing dishes and all other consumption.

Residents will be notified immediately when the advisory is lifted.
