Christmas Wish List Drive at Jackson Street Gallery (500 Highway 51, Suite E, Ridgeland). The gallery is collecting donated items for The Home Place, a senior citizens home in Madison through Dec. 20. Items needed include salon products, Kleenex and snacks. 9 a.m., James Ivory Homeless Persons' Memorial Day Observance at Galloway United Methodist Church (305 N. Congress St.). Homeless persons, homeless service providers and advocates gather to remember homeless persons who have died during the year and to call attention to the many issues of homelessness. The event include music, a litany and a presentation by Leslie Bingham on Grace Place, Galloway's homeless ministry. Free; call 601-351-8262.

Craig Bluntson Senior Citizens Food Drive. Drop off canned goods and other non-perishable food items at McDade's (904 E. Fortification St., 2526 Robinson Road) or Vowell's Market Place (2101 Raymond Road) through Dec. 21. Volunteers will sort the donations Dec. 21 at the VFW Club (4610 Sunray Drive) at 6 p.m. for distribution Dec. 22. Donations welcome; call 601-960-2052.

Food for Thought at Old Capitol Museum (100 S. State St.). Visitors are invited to donate books and non-perishable foods all month. Special programming for school groups highlight the value of good citizenship. Call 601-576-6800.

Restaurant Rave Call for Contestants at Jackson Convention and Visitors Bureau (111 E. Capitol St., Suite 102). Write a rave review in 100 words or less about your favorite Jackson restaurant, and submit it by Dec. 31. You could win a dinner for four. Summer Camp Open Enrollment at Jackson State University (1400 John R. Lynch St.). Kids Kollege is now accepting applications for the Classic Summer Camp and the CDF Freedom Schools Summer Program, which will take place in June and July. Participants can take educational classes in math, science, and reading as well as recreational courses in sports, dance, and art. Children ages 5-17 are eligible. Cancer Rehab Classes at Baptist Medical Center (1225 N. State St.), in the Activity Room of the Hederman Cancer Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2 p.m. The class helps cancer patients enhance cardiovascular strength, endurance, their immune system and bone density. • Weekly Storytime at Pearl Public Library Each Tuesday, Baby Bookworms Storytime for children ages birth-36 months is at 9:30 a.m., and Preschool Storytime for children ages 3-6 is at 10:30 a.m. The event includes stories, rhymes and music and a puppet show on the last Tuesday of the month.
• Pearl Peanuts Afterschool Program through May 25. On Wednesdays at 4 p.m., children in grades K-6 enjoy stories, crafts, snacks and special activities such as cooking, gardening and puppetry.

Youth Women's Cycling Group. Get fit while participating in a fun, recreational environment, Saturdays at 10 a.m. The club is for young girls ages 13-17. Free; call 601-559-5577.
