Victims of tornadoes that damaged the state April 15 through April 28 have less than a week left to register for emergency assistance.
Homeowners, renters and businesses in 29 Mississippi counties must register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency by June 28.
The 29 counties include Alcorn, Attala, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Clarke, Clay, Coahoma, DeSoto, Greene, Grenada, Hinds, Holmes, Jasper, Kemper, Lafayette, Leflore, Marshall, Monroe, Montgomery, Neshoba, Newton, Panola, Quitman, Smith, Sunflower, Tishomingo, Tunica, Webster and Winston.
FEMA grants may cover temporary housing, basic home repairs, and replacing essential household items not covered by insurance.
