Check out who has donated for 2011 JFP Chick Ball so far. We have items in we haven't logged yet, and we will update this list as more items pour in. It's definitely Chick Ball season -- people are dropping items throughout the day, and many more are pledged. Thanks to all of you! The silent auction brings a huge chunk of our money every years. And the rural counties around Jackson need all of us to help stop domestic abuse. Cheers, all.

By the way, all, if you become a money sponsor (for as little as $50), you will get entry to the Chick-A-BOOM reception, which occurs for the first two hours of the Chick Ball back in the brew pub/patio. Back there, you will eat *and* drink free and listen to soulful stylings of Akami Graham (you haven't lived if you haven't heard her sing "Sweet Thing.") The Chick-A-Boom reception (sponsored by our BOOM Jackson magazine) will also honor the 2011 Chicks We Love -- to be announced shortly. So get those $50 (or higher) cash sponsorships in for your Chick-A-BOOM reception entry!

This list just about makes me cry, folks. Thank you to people from every corner of our community, men and women of all ages and backgrounds, who are joining together to help stop domestic abuse and save families in rural areas surrounding Jackson. We are still taking donations. They need to close the gift guide itself tomorrow morning, but we can take donations up until the day of the Chick Ball: money of any amount, gift certificates, art, gifts of all sizes and your time. And now you can pay for your sponsorship (as low as $50) and get your VIP Chick-A-BOOM ticket here: http://www.eventbrite.com/event/1871729393/auto A $50+ ticket includes beer, wine and food, and you get listed as a sponsor. But remember that the Chick Ball itself has always cost only $5 to get into -- because we want anyone who wants to help to be able to. And the Chick Ball will feature free food from a variety of restaurants, but not free drinks. So, either way, please join us at whatever level you can afford. Every dime and dollar matters, and has so far helped buy the Center a new Freedom Van, seeded a batterer intervention program to help batterers stop battering and set up a legal fund to help victims get to and stay in safety. This year's Chick Ball will help seed these kinds of efforts in rural counties that so desperately need help. Please do whatever you can.
