Dr. Pepper has a new ad campaign to convince "manly men" to drink more diet soda.
"Hey Ted, men aren't drinking enough diet soft drinks. What do we do?"
"Oh, I dunno Mike; how about we put it in grey packaging and make a commercial with a dude shooting things up with lasers?"
And thus Dr. Pepper 10 was born. To be fair, the company probably put a bit more thought into the marketing than did the California Milk Processor board with its ill-fated milk-cures-PMS fiasco, but female consumers apparently haven't been too receptive to Dr. Pepper's no-girls-allowed pitch. Thoughts?

The only way I'll drink a diet soda, is when it actually doesn't taste diet! I mean, if you gonna drink a soda - drink a freakin' soda. My best friend in high school, mother used to buy Diet Caffine Sugar Free Coke - you might as well been drinking straight up seltzer water. Better yet, just drink water. I'm like Warren Buffett - give me a Cherry Coke and I am in hog heaven! Love'em. The issue to me isn't the marketing and look, its the taste. People that drink diet drinks amaze me, "it taste just like coke" or "it taste just like Dr. Pepper!" All it is, is an acquired taste and if I'm gonna quit drinking regular drinks, then why relegate myself to something that is just as bad for you? I'm just being honest.
