Red Cross Opens Shelters

The area around Rice Road and Harbor Drive have spots of flooding. The metro area could have flash flooding in the next 24 hours.

The American Red Cross has opened shelters in Jackson for families affected by flooding in the Jackson area. The Following shelters are open:

Greater Bethlehem Temple, 1505 Robinson Rd., Jackson

Brandon Shelter: Oakdale Baptist Church, 1872 Hwy 471, Brandon,

1st Baptist Church of Ridgeland, 302 West Jackson, Ridgeland

The Red Cross will provide volunteers, cots, water, snacks and meals.

Residents seeking shelter must bring personal items such as clothing, medicines, personal hygiene items, bedding and toys for children. Cots will be available, but will be given to the disabled and the elderly, as priority.
