U.S. News and World Report's newest edition of "America's Best Colleges" has named Millsaps College as a "High School Counselors' Pick" for the second year in a row.
The guide, released on Tuesday, obtained the opinions of public and private high school counselors across the country for the designation. On a one-to-five scale, Millsaps College received a four along with other national liberal arts colleges such as Sarah Lawrence College in New York, Colorado College, Cornell College in Iowa, Kenyon College in Ohio and St. John's College in Maryland.
The guide also names Millsaps as the top-ranked liberal arts college in Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama and Arkansas, and No. 85 of the 252 national liberal arts colleges.
"National rankings, of course, cannot convey the full story of any college or university, but we are always pleased when others recognize the outstanding value of a Millsaps education," Millsaps College President Dr. Robert Pearigen said in a statement. "I am very grateful of the valuable support of the entire faculty and staff at Millsaps College who work hard to ensure we thrive as a community of scholars pursuing excellence for, and along with, our students."
