JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — The Mississippi Republican Party has endorsed Mississippi Supreme Court Chief Justice Bill Waller, Justice Mike Randolph and Josiah Coleman for seats on the state's highest court.
Gov. Phil Bryant said in a new release that he also supports the candidates.
Waller was first elected to the Supreme Court in 1996. He has served as chief justice since January 2009.
Randolph was appointed by then-Gov. Haley Barbour in April 2004 and won a full-term that November.
Josiah Coleman is a candidate for the seat currently held by retiring Justice George Carlson.
Candidates for judicial seats in Mississippi run in non-partisan races.
